SwiftBuddy is a wallet and bills app for everyday life in Nigeria. You can buy airtime and data, pay for electricity and cable TV, fund betting wallets, send money to buddies, and gift or request bills, all from one balance.
On Android, download it from Google Play. On iPhone, SwiftBuddy is in beta through Apple's TestFlight: install the free TestFlight app, then open our TestFlight link to install SwiftBuddy. It will be on the App Store soon.
Airtime for all four major networks, internet data plans, electricity (prepaid and postpaid) across 11 distribution companies, cable TV subscriptions, and sports-betting wallet top-ups.
You save each bill under a nickname you choose, such as “Mum's House”. When a buddy decides to gift you, they only see that nickname and a masked version of the number. The payment goes straight to the bill, and your real details are never shown to them.
Your name, phone number and date of birth are enough to open a Tier 1 account. To raise your limits, verify your BVN or NIN with a live selfie (Tier 2), then a government ID and proof of address (Tier 3).
Your account is secured to your phone, so money only moves from it. On top of that: biometric login, a transaction PIN that locks after wrong attempts, one-time codes for sensitive changes, and encryption for your BVN, NIN and ID numbers.
Yes. Schools, estates and residents' associations, clubs, alumni groups, cooperatives, charities, businesses and places of worship of every faith apply at swiftbuddy.africa/business. Once approved, members find you in the app under Organisations and pay you once or automatically, or ask a buddy to pay for them. Collecting is free; a small fee applies only when you withdraw.
